I was pointed to this site this evening by a poster on TV Forum, and wish they'd mentioned it earlier. Basically it's a competition called Make A Break run by Channel Television in conjunction with Lloyds TSB and a series of other businesses whereby the local students of the islands battle it out to see who can produce the most popular advert. On that site all of the entrants for the 2005 competition can be viewed, ranging from some which just scream of their student origins, to others which could easily pass for a professional national production. Amazing to think that in this modern day the smallest ITV company on the network can still manage to pull off something both entertaining and educational like this, whilst the rest of the network could only dream about it.
